The financial implications of Joao Felix’s red card in Chelsea’s loss to Fulham on Thursday night has now been summed up.

Joao Felix was shown a straight red card for a poor tackle on Kenny Tete on his Chelsea debut in their 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

Referee David Coote consulted the VAR and had no hesitation in sending off Joao Felix after just 58 minutes of his Chelsea debut.

Consequently, Felix would be out of action for 30 days when he would miss Chelsea’s next three matches against Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Fulham.

According to Daily Mail, it estimated that Chelsea had invested a total of 23.6 million euros in the Joao Felix operation, between what they are to pay Atletico for his loan as well as the player’s salary.

It further noted that the cost of the red card Joao Felix received is estimated at 2.4 million euros, since each match Joao Felix plays for the London team is valued at 804,706 euros.

The situation leaves Chelsea with much frustrations in their poor run of form which has seen them winning just only one game in Nine matches.
