I’ve not resigned, letter in circulation is fake, says suspended Kwara APC exco
The suspended Assistant Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin West Local Government, Mallam Funsho Arije has debunked reports of his resignation from his party position describing a letter in circulation as fake and malicious.
In an interview with journalists on Thursday, he stated that he never submitted any resignation letter to the Ilorin West Chapter of the party, dismissing the purported document as a product of mischief.
“That letter is not from me. It doesn’t bear my imprint and was not released by me. The signature on it is not mine, it’s forged, and I am still trying to figure out who could have committed such a dastardly act,” he said.
He further questioned the logic behind the forgery, noting that it contradicts his previous stance regarding his alleged suspension from the party.
“I have already declared my purported suspension as illegal, and I am going to pursue the matter to the letter. I couldn’t be approbating and reprobating at the same time. How could I, who has rejected an illegal suspension, now turn around to resign from it? It makes no sense,” he asserted.
The embattled party executive urged the public and party faithful to disregard the letter, maintaining that he remains committed to his position and the APC. He also called on security agencies to investigate the source of the fake document and bring those responsible to book.
