England Jordan Henderson has rued their quarter final loss to France, saying ” it wasn’t our night”.
Speaking after the game, Henderson told ITV that even though his side gave a good fight in the clash, the french team were better in the encounter.
England lost the game 1-2 and even when they were close to coming back to the encounter, Harry Kane blew over a penalty to further crown the night for the Les Blues.
“it wasn’t our night.we felt good, the performances were really good, the focus and hunger has been really good.
“But you have to give credit to France, who are a good team. I still feel it was there for us to win tonight.” he quipped.
Henderson also felt that Harry Kane ‘will be stronger’ again having missed scoring a penalty that could have handed them another chance to stay on.
“We know how many penalties Harry has scored for us, how many goals he has contributed to even get us here.
“He will be stronger for this in the future. He is a world-class striker and our captain. He will bounce back.” He concluded
