IPNA supports family living with disability in Kwara community with mobility equipment

The Igbomina Project Network America (IPNA), has donated some mobility equipments to a family of three living with disabilities at Oyate Oro-Ago in Kwara State.

The organization, founded by Igbomina indigenes living in America and reputed for providing basic health facilities to rural habitants in Igbomina land, donated two tricycles to ease the mobility of members of the family.

It was gathered that all members of the family are disabled since birth, and stayed indoor living at the mercy of neighbours before the organisation’s intervention last year.

The NGO also donated wheelchairs, food items, drugs among others.

Moreover, it was learnt that despite their disabilities, the children engage in apprentice works to cater for their basic needs. Shola, the eldest son, repairs phone radio, touch light among others.

Speaking during the event, the chairperson of people living with disabilities in Kwara state and founder, Jibora foundation, Mrs. Joy Bolarin expresses delightedness towards the gesture of the group.

She said, “When I got the information that a family of four at Oyate, Oro Ago are living in disability, I requested to see them.

“But it was very painful that their mother died last year. These three children have been going through difficulties before the group came to their aids. The group has done a lot in the life of this family.

“When I met this group, I didn’t expect that they will do this much, but they are doing fantastic. Whenever they came last year they donated wheelchairs, food items, drugs among others.

She continued, “These children were unable to work around with the wheelchair, so we sent a message to the group again that they need something that will make them comfortable and balance, and they promised to get them tricycle.

“Today I am very happy that the group have to fulfill their promises and I pray that may God continue to help them.”

For his part, the Project coordinator of IPNA, Mr. John Olaniyan stressed the need for members of the public to donate generously to make live easier to the vulnerable people in the society.

“There are needs for members of the public to come to the aid of people like this.

“Last year when we are contacted by Mrs. John Bolarin, we came here to donate food items, drugs and wheelchair so has to help this family.

“Earlier this year we are contacted again that these children couldn’t move with even the wheelchair so we made promise that we will come to donate wheelchair for them.

“Our group is ready to support anybody that need help,” Mr. John pledged.

The family also appreciated the support of the group, disclosing that it will go a long way in improving their condition.
