…LP guber candidate felicitates governor elect
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the victory of the Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barrister Caleb Muftwang.
He won with a margin of 43,899 votes.
It was gathered that 14 BVAS and 14 ad-hoc staff were no where to be found while elections did not take place in Jos North council area of the state.
The INEC results revealed that the PDP guber candidate won in 10 local government areas: Jos South, Mikang, Mangu, Langtang North, Langtang South, Bokkos, Barakin-Ladi, Bassa, Riyom, and Qua’pan.
The APC guber candidate won in 7 local government areas: Jos North, Kanke, Pankshin, Kanam, Wase, Shendam, and Jos East.
The results of the election were announced by the State Returning Officer, Professor
Idris Amale, on Monday in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lafia-Nasarawa State revealed that the PDP candidate, Muftwang secured a total vote of 525, 299 to floor his close challenger, Professor Nentawe Yiltwada, who came up with 481 370 votes.

Professor Idris Amale, therefore, declared the candidate of PDP, Muftwang as the Saturday governorship election winner.
The returning officer of Jos North local government, Professor Chris Vende, revealed that election did not take place in 14 polling units in the council area.
He said 14 BVAS were missing and urged the electoral commission to launch investigation into the incident.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Dr. Patrick Dakum, has sent congratulatory wishes to the PDP candidate.
