Inclusive sports: Kwara pledges continued support for persons with disabilities

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive sports development, assuring persons living with disabilities of equal opportunities in the state’s sporting activities.

Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Magaji, conveyed the governor’s message while receiving members of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Kwara State Chapter, during a courtesy visit to his office.

Magaji explained that persons with disabilities are actively involved in local, national, and international sporting tournaments, both as athletes and coaches, under AbdulRazaq’s administration. He added that their contributions have been impactful and recognized within the Commission.

“We are committed to carrying everyone along, and persons with disabilities are not left behind. They hold important positions in our sports system, and we will continue to support them in realizing their full potential,” Magaji said.

Earlier, the Chairman of JONAPWD, Mallam Adebayo Gbadamasi, appealed for the Commission’s support towards the forthcoming International Day of Disability, stressing the need for a smooth and successful celebration.

He commended Magaji for his “sterling performance” and congratulated him on his reappointment as Chairman of the Sports Commission.
