The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has revealed his readiness to pay state government workers 13th month salaries for 2022.

This development was confirmed in a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, in Owerri, the capital of the state.

The Governor also said there’s ongoing plan to promote deserving state civil servants.

He has also promised to clear outstanding salaries and pensions soon.

He has implored state government workers to focused on the service of the government and to be apolitical.

“All verified 43, 000 workers without issues will never be owed by this government because we do not regard payment of salary as an achievement by any governor. The worker deserves his wage.

”Promotion issues will be looked into as long as the workers remain committed. We want you to desist from blackmailing the government.”

“Your happiness is my happiness, your sadness is my sadness, your hunger is my hunger,” he said.

Rev. Philip Nwansi, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, appreciated the governor for being friendly to workers.

He said he has the hope that those who have issues of unpaid salaries and pensions would soon rejoice.

The Informant247 had earlier reported that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has said that the state’s public workers and pensioners will be paid their 13th month’s salaries before the end of this year (December 31, 2022).

The Governor revealed that the December salaries of state’s public workers and pensioners will be given to them this week.
