“I’m badly injured” – Bobrisky re-arrested by EFCC at Lagos airport
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested popular socialite Idris Okuneye, better known as ‘Bobrisky’, at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Thursday night.
Sources informed The Informant247 that Bobrisky was taken into custody while attempting to board a flight to London, only days after being granted bail by the Nigerian Police.
Nigerian authorities halted a KLM flight Bobrisky had boarded and escorted him off the plane with immigration police.
Reports indicate he resisted the airport security operatives who came to remove him from the flight.
In a post on Instagram, Bobrisky claimed he was severely injured during the incident.
He wrote, “Nigerians, help me, EFCC just arrested me, I’m badly injured.”
Bobrisky still under investigation – EFCC confirms
In a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, represented by Director of Public Affairs Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Bobrisky remains under investigation.
EFCC also addressed concerns over potential corruption within the agency after allegations surfaced of bribery in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against the cross-dresser.
Uwujaren stated, “Regarding the investigation into the allegations by Bobrisky and VeryDarkman, we are committed to a thorough investigative process. If any misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will follow. I’ve seen law enforcement personnel held accountable for professional misconduct in my years here.”
