Ibadanland: Orji Kalu congratulates new Olubadan, High Chief Balogun

Sen. Orji Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate, has congratulated High Chief Lekan Balogun, the newly appointed 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a goodwill message sent on Tuesday in Abuja, Kalu hailed the new ruler’s qualities and asked him to build on his predecessor’s successes.

The former governor of Abia also asked the people of Ibadanland to unite behind the new Olubadan, emphasising the importance of traditional rulers in nation building.

He wished the new Olubadan a peaceful and prosperous reign.

“I congratulate High Chief Lekan Balogun, the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, on his accession to the throne.”

“The next Olubadan is a highly detrabilized and patriotic Nigerian who would utilise his position to help others.”

The late Oba Saliu Adetunji left a solid foundation for the incoming ruler to build on.

“The people of Ibadanland should continue to support the new monarch in directing the affairs of the city,” Kalu stated.
