The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has on Wednesday condemned the attack on former Imo State governor Ikedi Ohakim.

“The attack on Chief Ikedi Ohakim is uncalled for, and we must stand tall in protecting our people.

“Not every politician is wicked.

“Ohakim is one of the peaceful people among the politicians in the Eastern region,” the group said.

The former governor was attacked at Oriagu in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area on Monday evening.

Ohakim’s backup vehicle was bombed, which resulted in the death of his four security detail.

A source said: “His Excellency was the main target but his brave driver was smart enough to beat them because they were driving to block him.
