‘I will not betray Kwara North,’ PDP senatorial candidate Jiya tells supporters
..says Saraki is his political leader, not a political godfather
The Kwara North senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kolo Baba Jiya, has promised not to betray the people of Kwara North, thanking them for their confidence and support and assuring them that he would remain truthful and committed to the constituency.
The senatorial candidate said he would always stand by the interests of the people and work to justify the confidence they had placed in him.
He made the statement while addressing his supporters during his welcome-home visit after securing the PDP Kwara North senatorial ticket.
The places visited included Tsaragi in Edu Local Government Area, as well as Wadata, Esanti, Lade Patigi, Kpada, Gakpan and Doro in Patigi Local Government Area, all in the Kwara North Senatorial District.
Jiya alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Kwara State was unfair, citing irregularities that contributed to his decision to contest under the PDP in the forthcoming general election.
He also said he does not have a political godfather, describing former Senate President Bukola Saraki as his political leader rather than a godfather.
