I was chased, hunted by Buhari govt yet I stood for Nigeria — Saraki
Former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki has told the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegates in Kaduna State to support an aspirant who is bold enough to stand for the country and one who has shown that he will place the country’s interest over his personal interest.
While addressing the party’s delegates in Kaduna on Sunday, Saraki recounted that despite being chased, and hunted by the present government, he still stood firm for the country.
“I have done that and I will always continue to put Nigeria first. As the Senate President, I stood for Nigeria, I was chased and hunted but I said no, I am going to stand for Nigeria. So I ask you if I can do that as Senate President, with your support, In Shaa Allah I will do that as the president of Nigeria.”
He added, “With your votes, we will have security back in Kaduna State, and our children will be able to go to school, I am full of energy and I will work and work until it happens.
“This is not the time for talk but the time for action and I am a man of action, I am a man that brings people together, I am a bridge between the north and the south, the young and the old.”
Saraki however gave an assurance to the people of the state that their moribund industries especially the textile industries will be resuscitated when he emerges the next president.
