President Muhammadu Buhari has said he will not accommodate any excuses from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The president has said he’s not interested in any excuses from the electoral commission.
He said the resources needed by the electoral commission have been released to them at appropriate time, in order to facilitate smooth running of the elections.
The Nigerian leader made this remark while responding to questions at Washington DC.
The presidential media aide, Garba Shehu in a signed statement, Saturday revealed that the event was organized in collaboration with the International Republican Institute, the United State Institute of Peace, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and National Endowment for Democracy.
In the statement the president remarked that the electoral umpire has no excuses to give based shortage of resources or funds.
The President stated: “I made sure they were given all the resources they asked for because I don’t want any excuses that they were denied funds by the government.”
