A father of three, Taiwo Ajadi, on Monday filed a divorce against his wife, Mariam at the Area Court sitting in Ilorin over alleged disobedience and waywardness, while also applied for the custody of their three children: Two girls and a boy.

Mr Maruf Ibrahim, the counsel for the respondent, told the court that his client, Mariam, agreed to the divorce but not on the basis of the allegations levelled against her, saying his client was not in any way disobedient to her husband or wayward in any way or manner.

He, however, said the wife also wanted custody of their three children, while describing them as minors and the husband should be responsible for their school fees and maintenance.

The Presiding Judge, AbdulQadir Ibrahim, said the applicant should produce evidence and witnesses on reasons why he should have custody of the children, while adjourning the case until March 20 for hearing.
