Humiliation as Liverpool wallop Man Utd 7-0 at Anfield

Liverpool proved more classical than Manchester United on Sunday as Jurgen Kloop side handed the red devils one of their heaviest defeats a week after clinching the Carling Cup.

A brace each from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez , Mohammed Salah and a goal from Roberto Firmino was all the reds needed to thump their visitors.

United showed glittering of a solid performance earlier in the first half before Cody Gakpo slotted home the opener two minutes to the break.

The hosts would later steal the show totally in the second half and went on score more six goals to the delight of their fans.

While the victory didn’t only see Liverpool moving up a bit on the table, it also handed them a boost in their charge for a top four finish after enduring a poor start into the season.

It was United’s heaviest defeat since losing 5-0 to Liverpool in October 2021.
