How tricycle operator was beaten to death in Ilorin: Police

The police in Kwara State have narrated how a tricycle operator, Kola Adeyemi was allegedly beaten to death by one Kayode Oluwatomi in Ilorin.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the Kwara State Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said that the case was reported by the Vice Chairman of the Tricycle Riders Association, Garin Alimi/Asa-Dam unit, Ilorin.

“It’s a case of culpable homicide and the deceased of Boluwaji area, Egbejila, hit a black coloured Honda car with Reg No. Bx 954 AJL at the back and broke one of its parking lights valued at N2,500.

“The tricycle operator begged to pay N2,000 but he (Kayode) refused and argument ensued which led to him slapping the tricycle operator who slumped and was confirmed dead at Garin Alimi hospital, Ilorin,” Okasanmi added.

He said the suspect, who has been arrested, will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
