How FRSC Resuce Woman Kidnapped by Okada Rider in Abeokuta
In a commendable act, a patrol team from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, successfully rescued a woman who had been kidnapped by a commercial motorcyclist.
According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in the state, the incident took place on Sunday along the Abeokuta-Sagamu route.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was rescued from the clutches of the Okada rider identified as Dauda Usman, with the bike registration number PKA211WA.
Okpe explained that the FRSC team promptly responded to the situation after receiving information from other commercial motorcycle riders who had witnessed the woman being taken away by the suspected kidnapper. The woman had raised an alarm while on the bike.
Taking immediate action, the patrol team intercepted the motorcycle and arrested the rider.
During the subsequent interrogation, the woman informed the FRSC patrol leader that the rider had ignored her pleas to stop after reaching her intended destination near the Immigration Centre.
Instead of complying, the Okada rider continued towards another location, prompting the woman to call for help.
Fortunately, nearby bike riders stationed at the Laderin Estate Junction responded swiftly, pursuing the suspect and the kidnapped woman.
With the assistance of these concerned bike riders, the FRSC patrol team successfully rescued the woman and handed both her and the Okada rider over to the police.
The quick response and collaboration among the FRSC team and the vigilant bike riders ensured the woman’s safety and led to the apprehension of the alleged kidnapper.
