Hoodlums shoot police officer in Ilorin
The law has caught up with some suspected hoodlums who allegedly caused mayhem at Adeita area of Ilorin and also shot a police officer, one Adepoju Soji.
Police report revealed that the suspected hoodlums stormed the area with dangerous weapons such as guns, cutlass and charms unleashing terror without any justifiable reason.
Preliminary investigation conducted led
to the arrest of Suleiman Sanni, Abdulateef Quadiri, Abdulganiyu Issa, Kayode Aliyu, Abdulateef Adeyinka, Abdulateef
Arigbabowo and Issa Taofeeq.
It was gathered that one locally made pistol and two expended cartridge, which Suleiman Sanni used to shoot at the police officer who was among the unit directed to restore calm at the were recovered.
Further discreet investigation revealed that the hoodlums hide under guise of being members of TOAN, RATEAN and NURTW in Adeita area, Ilorin and its environs.
Magistrate Ibrahim Dasuki, ordered their remand after considering the submissions made by the prosecutor, Folorunsho Zacchaeus while the matter was adjourned till 4th of next month.
