Gunmen kill Cross River varsity student, escape with his bag

Some gunmen on Thursday stormed the Cross River University of Technology and gunned down a student.

A source that was in the school and witnessed the scenario, Vicky Ima, revealed that the gunmen drove in a sienna car to the location of the student, where he’s sitting and gunned him down.

“The incident took place right in front of me and my friends. We were strolling past the Engineering Faculty when we saw some students sitting in a group and chatting and from no where a sienna car drove towards them and one of the students stood up an ran. Some young men stepped out of the car and chased after him”

She narrated that they killed him, and went closer to him to confirm his death before they fired another shot on his chest and covered his face with his cloth.

She added that the gunmen took away the bag of their victim and drove off.

“We suspect one of those persons he was chatting with was providing those hoodlums where to  locate him  and when they came he knew he was the person they were looking for promoting him to take to his heels”

The spokesperson of the institution, Mr Onen Onen, was not around at the time of filing this report and his telephone line was not connecting.p
