Group expresses concern over high rate of crime in Ilorin communities

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has expressed concern over high rate of crimes in some communities in Ilorin.

Jagumo Muhammad Uthman, the group’s spokesperson, expressed residents’ anxiety during a visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, in his palace on Wednesday.

According to Jagumo, the bandits are terrorizing residents and travellers in Eiyenkorin, Otte and Balla communities, all in Asa council area of the state.

“Bandits are now kidnapping and robbing at Eiyenkorin, Otte and Balla. Ilorin is a very peaceful city and such shouldn’t be condoned,” he stated.

He called on the commissioner for police and other relevant security agencies to assist in disbanding the bandits.
