Singer Mohbad is dead

Gov. Sanwo-Olu seeks DSS involvement in MohBad’s death investigation

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has taken a significant step in the investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as MohBad.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, it was announced that Governor Sanwo-Olu has invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to collaborate with the state police command in the investigation.

The statement reads, “The Lagos State Government has noted the developments that have followed the death of music star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (aka MohBad). Following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive, the Police in Lagos State have launched a major investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young star. A 19-man police panel has been asked to unravel the mystery of the musician’s death.”

To further enhance the investigation, Governor Sanwo-Olu has extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to participate in the probe. This collaborative effort aims to utilize the best available technology and inter-agency coordination to uncover the truth behind MohBad’s death.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that anyone found to have played a role, regardless of how minor, in any event leading to MohBad’s death will face the full weight of the law after a thorough investigation.

This decision comes after the Lagos State Police Command had previously established a 13-man special investigation team to look into the circumstances surrounding the late singer’s demise. MohBad passed away on September 11 at the age of 27, prompting an outpouring of condolences and the need for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of his death.
