The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, was reportedly no where to be found at the pre-Atiku Freedom March press conference organized in honour of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday.
Some top leaders, stakeholders and loyalists of the governor who were supposed to be at the event at the state Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Iyaganku, Ibadan; today were also no where to be found.
It was gathered that the former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (State), Jumoke Akinjide, the former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Wole Oyelese, and the former deputy Governor of the state, Hazeem Gbolarumi and another leader of the party, Femi Babalola addressed the press briefing.
The main event is to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Ibadan, the capital of the state.
The Informant247 recalls that Governor Makinde is among the five aggrieved PDP governors otherwise addressed as G-5 governors.
The G-5 governors have refused to declare open support for Atiku ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
They have called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorcha Ayu as a precondition to support Atiku’s presidency, as northerner cannot be the president and another northerner chairman of the party.
