AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor, has mourned the shocking death of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim of the Peoples Democratic Party after a brief illness.
A statement by Rafiu Ajakaye, the spokesperson for the governor, on Wednesday said the governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late senator, the people of Ojoku in Oyun Local Government Area, and the Peoples Democratic Party on this sad development.
The statement reads, “This shocking development again reminds everyone of the inevitability of death for all human beings and the fact that it could come unannounced for anyone, according to the Governor.
Governor AbdulRazaq prays to Allaah to admit the senator to al-Jannah Firdaus and comfort his family members, political associates, and followers, the statement added.”

In a related development, the former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prof. Ali Ahmad has also expressed deep shock over the passing of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party.
Professor of Constitutional Law, in a condolence statement issued by the spokesperson of his media office, Steve Makinde, described Senator Rafiu as a great man whose dedication to personal development and philanthropy knew no bounds. He added that his passing had left a huge void in the hearts of many people.
The statement reads, “I received with shock the sad news of the passing of our beloved PDP Chieftain Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who was said to be full of life just yesterday.
“Throughout his lifetime, Senator Rafiu has used his quest for personal development, scholarship, and philanthropy as a politician to put smiles on the faces of Kwara youths with the vibrant discharge of his role as the representative of his constituents. He was a loyal and great man.
“His passing is not only a loss to his friends, family, and associates, but also to the Saraki Dynasty in which he impacted many lives, the Kwara youths constituency, and the nation at large. No doubt, he lived a fulfilled life worth emulating. His legacies will be forever cherished and missed.
“I pray the families, friends, and associates of Senator Rafiu find solace in the enduring legacies he left behind. My heart and that of my family go to his family, friends, and entire Saraki Dynasty.
“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” the statement added.
