Gov AbdulRazaq charges newly sworn-in NYSC members on discipline, hardwork

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor, on Friday, charged the newly sworn-in members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) to be disciplined and hardworking in the service of their fatherland.
The governor made this known during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch ‘B’, Stream 2 Youths Corps members, at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area of the State where the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, who Justice Emiworoji Baba Mohammed represented administered the “NYSC Oath of Allegiance” to the corps members.
The Governor, who was represented by the Kwara State Commissioner for Youths Development, Hon. Sheu Ndanusa Usman, welcomed the corps members to the State of Harmony while admonishing them to make the experience of their service year exciting and highly rewarding,
The governor, who also assured the new corps members of the State Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for them to thrive, also urged them to participate in camp activities such as physical training, paramilitary drills, citizenship and leadership training, among others.
“I can assure you that the government will continue to create an environment that promotes the well-being and security of Corps members who are deployed to Kwara State for their National service,” Governor AbdulRazaq noted.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Kwara State NYSC Governing Board, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths Development, Alh. Abdulrasak Babatunde Alabere, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support to the NYSC scheme in Kwara State and admonished the corps members to serve selflessly, while commending the camp officials for their hard work and selfless sacrifice at ensuring the safety of the Corps members.
On his part, the State Coordinator for the NYSC, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, said a total of 1,960 Corps members comprising 1,111 females and 949 males were sworn-in at the Yikpata camp.
The governor, while noting that the NYSC had just completed the renovation of some toilets and bathroom facilities for the use of corps members and appreciated the Governor for his support to the NYSC in the state.
Also present at the event were the representative of the Commissioner of Police, ASP Adaba Abdulmumeen , representative of the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Divisional Police Officer of Lafiagi, CSC Salawu Saadu Amoo, representative of the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), Assistant Commander of Narcotics Richard Ogunjobi, the representative of the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, SRC Abdulkadir Ajeigbe, among others.
