”God forbid” — Aisha Yesufu disagrees with Peter Obi over gov’ship candidate

Aisha Yesufu, an ardent supporter of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi has tendered a contrary political stance as she refuses to support the governorship candidate of the party in Enugu State.

Mrs. Yesufu disagreed with Obi and other supporters on who would become the next Governor of the state.

Peter Obi, took to the micro blogging platform, Twitter to endorse the governorship candidate of the state, urging his supporters to come out in large numbers to cast their votes for their candidates in various states across the country.

This came three days to the governorship and House of Assembly elections scheduled to hold on March 11, 2023.

Obi wrote, “As we pursue due process and defer to the rule of law, I urge all the OBIdients in the various states to continue campaigning for our candidates, namely, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour in Lagos, Chijoke Edeoga in Enugu, Patrick Dakum in Plateau, Alex Otti in Abia, Ken Pela in Delta, Ibrahim Mshelia in Borno, to name just a few.”

Obi explained that his supporters need to back candidates with character, capacity, compassion and competence.

But Aisha Yesufu, maintained a contrary political stance as she believed Frank Nweke Jnr of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was the best among the governorship candidates in the state.

“God forbid I become what I want to change. I can never sacrifice competence for partisanship!” She tweeted.

“Frank Nweke Jnr @FrankNwekeII is the person for Enugu State. The people must be the winners and not individuals.”
