Generator fume kills mother, 5 month-old-baby, as father’s in critical condition in Ondo

Generator fume has killed a 5 month old baby and the mother in their residence in the Owo town of Ondo State.

The victims reportedly inhaled the generator fume overnight on Friday, March 10.

It was gathered that the family bought the generator, Monday, March 6 and it killed them on Friday night.

The deceased victim simply identified as Tawa, and her husband were workers of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo.

She called her older sister on Thursday to tell her the baby was not feeling well and that she would bring the baby to her.

Tawa’s sister checked her at her place of work around 1pm, and discovered that Tawa and her husband were not at work.

Tawa’s sister and the couple’s colleagues at work reportedly went to check them at their house but met the door locked.

The forced their way into the house by breaking in and found them on the ground unconscious, while the baby was dead.

They were quickly hospitalized to the FMC, where the wife was later confirmed dead, as the husband was said to be in critical health condition.

The state police command has not reacted to the incident.
