The Minister of State for Transportation, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, on Saturday, assured APM Terminals of the Federal Government’s dedication to make ports services in Nigeria meet international standards.
The minister, made the disclosure while receiving the new head of APM, Klaus Laursen at a courtesy call in Abuja.
The Minister of State while appreciating APM for the visit, called for harmonious working relationship between the government and terminal operators.
She emphasized that economic growth and development of the terminal sector would only be possible if each party decides to work together.
While appreciating the fact that every business man needs to make profit, she enjoined APM to conduct its business in a way that would engender growth and service improvement in the Gulf of Guinea.
Saraki acquainted APM that Nigeria would renew her quest for category seat at the International Maritime Organisation and hoped the company would support Nigeria in that regard.
APM Terminals is an international container terminal operating company with headquarters in the Hague, Netherlands. It is one of the World’s largest port and terminal operators and it also provides cargo support and container inland services.
