Gabriel fires Arsenal past Chelsea in London derby
Gabriel Magalhães’ second-half goal was the difference as Arsenal snatched a 1-0 win over Chelsea in a Sunday London derby clash.
For a lackluster Chelsea, it was their second defeat at home consecutively after their last week 1-4 defeat to Brighton Hove and Albion.
An impressive Arsenal dominated the first half of the game with rolls of chances coming their way but had no clinical finish to bury the scoreline.
While both teams continue their search for the lead, Gabriel was on hand in the 63rd to steer in a corner from Bukayo Saka, thus sending Gunner’s fans to a wild jubilation.
While the result is a challenge on the new era Graham Potter is trying to build at the Bridge, the win lifts Arsenal back atop the table, with two points ahead of Manchester City who had taken an overnight lead with their late earned 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday
