Fun seekers killed as explosion rocks Kogi bar
No fewer than three persons had lost their lives and many injured in an explosion that happened in Kabba, Kogi State, Wednesday.
The incident happened at a beer parlour around Lewu Junction.
A source said the sad incident happened at about 9pm when people were making fun in the beer parlour.
He said, “I heard a loud sound not far from where I was, and as I went there, I saw three bodies, while the injured were taken to the hospital.”
Also, another source said, “It was a bomb blast because the sound was devastating as people died and several others were injured. I saw how the victims were picked and taken to the hospital by security personnel.”
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Edward Egbuka, via a statement, said report has it that it was a gas explosion and not a bomb blast.
He said police operatives have taken possible steps and assured that he would give more detailed information about the incident after investigation.
