The forum is a high level event hosted by the Norwegian government.

The immediate past vice President disclosed this on his official Twitter on Tuesday.

“I am in Oslo, Norway to attend the 20th Oslo Forum hosted by the Norwegian Government. It is an opportunity to speak with decision makers, experts, peace process actors and reflect on the practice of mediation” he tweets

More than 100 prominent conflict mediators, high-level decision makers and actors in peace processes will be attending the forum  in Norway to reflect on mediation initiatives at a time of major shifts in global and regional power.

This year’s event marks the 20th anniversary of the Oslo Forum, the leading series of retreats for international mediators and peacemakers. The Forum is co-hosted by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD).

The two-day meeting will offer participants a discreet, informal setting to share perspectives and assess the state of mediation and peacemaking against a backdrop of rising geopolitical competition, increasing conflict and the growing impact of climate change, social media and other factors that fuel conflicts.
