President Muhammadu Buhari has begged Nigerians whom he might have hurt while carrying out his official duties.
The Nigerian leader told those he might have offended to forgive him.
He made this revelation at the final Sallah homage led by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Mohammed Bello, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President also commended the people of the country for overlooking his shortcomings since he’s been in office.
“Thank you for tolerating me…I consider myself lucky to have been a governor, minister and head of state and now president for two terms.
“I can’t wait to go home…I deliberately arranged to be as far away as possible from you people. I have got what I have asked and will quietly retire to my home town in Daura,” he told his guests.
Buhari described democracy as the best system of government, saying it was democracy that empowered him as the president.
He said he’s from far area of the country, Daura in Katsina State, which is some kilometers to Niger Republic.
