Saliu Mustapha announces full scholarship for daughter of deceased KWASU lecturer, Idris Yahaya

The Turaki of Ilorin and the All Progressives Congress candidate in the 2023 Kwara Central Senatorial election, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has announced a full scholarship for the daughter of late Kwara State University (KWASU) lecturer, Idris Oladimeji Yahya.

Oladimeji died in a ghastly motor accident which occurred in the Oko-Olowo area along the Ilorin-Jebba expressway, on Thursday.

The deceased who was a native of Adifa community in Ilorin, was survived by his father, wife and three children, the elder being a 3 year hold who is presently to at nursery school.

However, during a Firdau prayer held on Sunday at Adifa area, Mustapha’s representative, Abdullahi Abdulsalam Abodurin, announced that the Turaki will sponsor the girl’s education from basic level to tertiary level.

He also mentioned that Mallam Saliu Mustapha will support Oladimeji’s widow financially. The support, he said, would be in the form of seed capital for her make-up business to cater for the remaining two children, who are toddlers.

It would be recalled that the management of KWASU, had in an earlier statement said that the deceased would be missed as he showed traits of excellent scholarship and dedication to duty.

“He will be missed as he showed traits of excellent scholarship and dedication to duty. While we pray for the repose of his soul, we urge the University Community to also pray for his family and loved ones,” the registrar of the university, Dr Kikelomo Sallee, wrote
