Fire Killed 134 people in Kano in 2020 —Fire Service
A report made by Kano State Fire Service claims that 134 people and properties worth N635 million were lost to fire incidents in the state between January 1 and December 31, 2020.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the service on Tuesday in Kano when he said that service also saved 1,077 lives and property worth over N2 billion in 786 fire incidents and recorded about 693 rescue calls and 184 and alarms during the year 2020.
According to him, most of the fire incidents were caused by carelessness in handling cooking gas, use of inferior electrical appliances and poor wiring in houses and warned residents to always handle fire cautiously to infernos and uncontrollable disasters in the state.
