A three-bedroom flat has been gutted by fire at Geri-Alimi Estate in Ilorin.
The cause of the fire outbreak, which occurred about 14:35hrs on Tuesday afternoon, was attributed to a nonchalant attitude in the cause of bush burning.
The spokesperson for Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, said the incident happened beside Olusanya Motors, Ilorin, Kwara State.
He said the fire was put out by the Fire Service officials who, according to Adekunle’s statement, displayed high level of professionalism
Hassan said the inferno consumed two rooms, adding that no fatality was recorded.
He said, “On getting to the scene of occurrence, the inferno was still raging and two bedrooms had burnt in the building including many other property kept in there.
“The conflagration was said to have been caused due to the nonchalant attitude that was put-up by one anonymous person who deliberately set the undergrowth (within the vicinity of the building) on fire which later spread to the affected rooms of the building.
Adekunle however quoted the Fire Service Boss, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, as advising the general public to be more safety conscious.
