Fire has razed a hotel in Enu-Avomimi, Enugu-Ukwu, Anambra State, destroying goods worth millions of naira.
It was gathered that the fire began around 4.35am and was reportedly triggered by power surge.
Report has it that 2 rooms were completely burnt before the fire fighters came around.
The State Fire Chief, Engr Martin Agbili while confirming the incident said no one died in the fire incident.
He added that the operatives of the fire service were able to control the inferno from burning down the whole building.
He said, “At about 0435hrs of today 01-02-2023, Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call of fire outbreak at Wiggo Hotel and Suites, Enu-Avomimi, Enugu-Ukwu, Anambra State.
“Immediately, we deployed our fire truck and Fireghters to the fire scene. The fire was caused by power surge from one of the air conditioning.
“Two rooms with its properties were completely burnt but we were able to control the fire from spreading and engulfing the entire building.
“We withdrew of men at about 0630hrs after a successful fire operation.”
