Agricultural Engineers in the Kwara State Civil Service have been urged to find a modern way of solving agricultural problems in the country.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon gave the charge at a training workshop organized for Engineering Staff by the Directorate of Engineering Services of the Ministry.
The Commissioner explained that the workshop will avail the participants the opportunity to refresh their knowledge and learn new techniques in solving emerging agricultural challenges especially the dry season farming.
Commending the Directorate for the wonderful feat, Hon. Gideon encouraged its Management to work assiduously to achieve remarkable improvement in the output of staff.
“While this is an impressive achievement, your department is further encouraged to work assiduously and not to rest on your oars. I understand that the training had remarkably improved your staff to work independently and confidently,” the Commissioner said.
Speaking at the workshop, the State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole reiterated the state government’s commitment to training and retraining of its workforce with a view to enhancing efficiency in service delivery.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training, Alhaji Boni shuaib, the HOS further commended the Ministry for the importance attached to the training of its workforce, adding that the Ministry is the first to organize three different training workshops in this calendar year.
