A university undergraduate, Usman Abubakar-Rimi, who became a food vendor during the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) industrial strike, has died.
It was gathered that Abubakar-Rimi was a final year student of Medicine and Surgery Department at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS).
The Informant247 recalls that Abubakar-Rimi set up a food outlet in the Diplomat area of Sokoto.
He lost his life after a short illness on Wednesday.
Umar Idris, the Chairman of 21st Century Entrepreneur Hub, made the confirmation of the news of his death to newsmen on Saturday.
Idris revealed that the deceased undergraduate had been given the final respect according to Islamic rites in his hometown in Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina.
The deceased was referred to as a symbol of humility and dedication both as student and entrepreneur.
In September, the deceased undergraduate informed newsmen that he started the food business due to the prolonged ASUU strike.
He also explained that he used the time of COVID-19 lockdown to begin an egg and chicken distribution business.
