FG declares public holidays for Easter celebration

The Federal Government on Tuesday, announced Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government, while extending his heartfelt congratulations to Christians nationwide for this joyous occasion.

The Minister, in a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, underscored the significance of embodying the virtues of sacrifice and love exemplified by Jesus Christ, who died for the redemption of humanity.

He urged Nigerians to utilize the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation. Additionally, he reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to promote national growth and development.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged individuals to spread love and goodwill to their neighbors through acts of kindness and generosity. He wished all Christians a joyful Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
