One Yahaya Mohammed was remanded by an Ilorin Magistrate court for allegedly killing his ten years old son, Aliyu Muhammed, with Cutlass for refusing to run errands for him.
The defendant (Muhammed), who reportedly grew annoyed following his son’s arrogance, threw a cutlass at him which eventually cut off his right leg below his ankle.
The defendant repeatedly rushed his son to the hospital while he was bleeding profusely but he died while receiving treatment.
The prosecutor, Moshood Agboola, informed the court that the matter is culpable homicide and is not ordinarily bailable, urging the court to order the remand of the defendant.
Magistrate Saliu Muhammed who presided over the matter ordered that the defendant be kept in the correctional yard till the 4th of next month.
