A 50 year old farmer, John Lanja, has been sentenced to 30 days imprisonment over theft of a plastic bucket and a goat.
He was sentenced by an area court in Jos on Wednesday.
A panel of judges, Mr Hyacinth Dolnanan and Malam Sadqi Adam, sentenced the convict to 30 days imprisonment.
The convict has pleaded guilty to theft and persuaded the court to be linient.
The judges gave the convict an option
The Judges has given the convict an option to pay a fine of N5,000 fine or risk 30 days imprisonment.
Insp Ibrahim Gowkat, the prosecution counsel earlier informed the court that the case was reported by one Mr Danjuma Gyang, at the Anglo Jos Police station on Sept. 18.
He added that the convict stole a pot, a goat, and a plastic bucket which belong to Ms Ruth John.
The prosecutor also revealed that the stolen items were recovered from the convict during police investigation.
