Family denounces upcoming launch of book on Ilorin Emir’s mother

The children of the late Alhaja Aishatu Bolanta Nma Sulu-Gambari, the mother of the Emir of Ilorin, have formally denounced the planned launch of their mother’s book, set for October 15, 2024.

The event is being planned by the book author, Mr. Abdul Hameed Oladipupo Ali, who is a former Ilorin West Local Government chairman.

In a statement signed by Hajiya Salamatu Olawepo Gobir, the first daughter of the late Alhaja Nma, and sent to The Informant247, they said the family was neither consulted on the content of the book nor involved in any committees associated with its creation.

Hajiya Gobir expressed deep concern over the lack of transparency, stating that invitations for the book launch were distributed without the family’s knowledge.

“We want to make it clear that the entire family does not endorse this event,” she said.

“We urge that our objections be taken seriously as we seek to preserve our mother’s legacy in a manner that reflects our family values and understanding.”

The family further called on the public to respect their wishes regarding the legacy of their late mother, expressing their disapproval of the upcoming event.
