Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, the former Governor of Anambra State, has said he was ready to prostrate or be on his knee before President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo also disclosed that Professor George Obiozor, the leader of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, is making another plan to forward a delegation of elders of Igbo extraction to visit the president over Kanu’s issue.
The octogenarian elder statesman made this revelation during a television session on Monday while commenting to the Appeal Court judgment.
The court discharged the IPOB leader last week, while Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), made a contradictory disposition against the judgment.
“If President Buhari wants me to kneel down, I will kneel down. If he wants me to prostrate, I’ll prostrate just for Nnamdi Kanu to be released. Going to Supreme Court is a waste of time. Everyone in Nigeria is looking for a new Nigeria,” Ezeife said.
The former governor of the state also revealed that the freedom of Kanu will bring solution to the issues of protests, agitation and sitting-at-home in the South-East region.
