Mikel Arteta has revealed two first-team Arsenal players are set to miss tonight’s game against Manchester City.
Arsenal go into the game this night with five points difference from City who have two games outstanding.
The match has been adjudged as the decider of which of both teams will eventually win the league.
While it is possible for City to close that gap to just two points with victory at the Etihad this evening, Arsenal also look forward to getting the best of the game to reduce the pressure of the chase from Guardiola’s boys.
Arteta has now revealed that the team will be without defender William Saliba, who has been absent with a back injury since last month’s Europa League exit to Sporting Lisbon and Granit Xhaka who also remains a serious doubt after missing the 3-3 draw with Southampton due to illness.
Arteta confirmed: “There has not been real improvement on him.
“It is another week that has gone by and he has not been able to train with the team, he said on Saliba.
For Xhaka, he noted “At the moment we don’t have him. The [Chelsea] game will also come too close.
“Granit has been out, hopefully he will be able to train today. He is still a doubt
