A former Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government Area in Kwara State, Hajia Aminat Omodara, has said she remain a bonafide member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
This is just as she implored thousands of her supporters from across the local government to remain resolute in ensuring the PDP rescue, reclaim and reset Kwara and Nigeria in 2023.
She stated this while fielding questions from journalist after the weekly meeting of her ward, Oko Erin, Ilorin West LG.
Omodara was welcomed into the meeting in a grandstyle as members of the party led by the ward chairman, Alhaji Hussein Magaji and all attendees were excited to receive her.
The meeting, according to the ex-council boss, was neither for defection nor cross carpeting, but a homecoming as she had never dump the Saraki political dynasty for any other. Her attendance at the meeting was to her a motivational movement geared towards electioneering campaign ahead the 2023 general elections.
“I have come to attend the People’s Democratic Party, Oko Erin ward meeting. The colourful atmosphere and the excitement witnessed is a show of love by my people. The ovation received today is a definition of “home sweet home”.
“Everyone knows my political history/antecedents which can only be tailored towards the Saraki dynasty. I am a Sarakite to the core and I shall remain one. The feeling when you are with your family is quite different. This take me to the saying that, ‘it is good to be where you are celebrated than to be where you’re only tolerated”. I am not joining issue with anyone but the true is that I am comfortable among my political family,” she said.
Assuring party faithful of her unflinching support, she equally urged the people to vote candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in all elections from state to national level.
Defying distraction from the drowning ruling APC, Omodara expressed optimism that the PDP would emerge victorious in the 2023 election, adding that if the party gets into power in 2023, it shall exhibit good governance with balanced people-oriented policies.
