ENACT commends AbdulRazaq’s strategic investments in security, economic growth, infrastructure

The founder of ENACT, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, has commended Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for investments in security, economic development and infrastructure, describing the areas as interconnected drivers of residents’ welfare.

Balogun said the administration’s support for security agencies, community protection initiatives and inter-agency collaboration demonstrated its commitment to protecting lives, safeguarding livelihoods and strengthening public confidence.

He cited the recent presentation of 25 additional Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police Force as part of a broader plan to provide approximately 100 vehicles to security agencies.

According to him, the intervention is expected to improve operational mobility, expand patrol coverage and strengthen responses to security threats, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.

The ENACT founder also acknowledged the government’s support for forest guards, community-based security structures and joint operations, including Operation Harmony, as well as its collaboration with federal security institutions.

He further commended the administration’s financial assistance to the families of fallen forest guards, vigilantes and community fighters, describing the gesture as recognition of their sacrifices in protecting lives and communities.

“Security is fundamental to development. When people feel safe, farmers can access their fields, businesses can operate, investors can commit resources and communities can pursue economic opportunities,” Balogun said.

He added that the governor deserved commendation for strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies while promoting a coordinated response to the state’s security challenges.

Balogun stressed that sustainable security must be accompanied by economic empowerment, job creation and measures to ease the cost-of-living pressures on households.

He said expanding access to employment, vocational and digital skills, entrepreneurship support and productive economic activities could improve livelihoods, strengthen community resilience and create opportunities for young people.

According to him, a secure environment also provides the conditions for businesses to expand, agricultural activities to grow and private-sector investment to generate employment across the state.

He urged the government to sustain efforts to support small businesses, increase local production, improve access to essential services and strengthen household purchasing power.

He noted that the impact of economic development should ultimately be measured by improvements in the everyday lives of residents.

The ENACT founder also commended the administration’s focus on infrastructure, including roads, bridges, electricity and other public facilities, describing them as essential to economic growth and effective security operations.

He explained that improved road networks facilitate the movement of security personnel and emergency responders while connecting rural communities to markets, healthcare, education and other essential services.

Balogun added that better infrastructure could reduce barriers to trade, support agricultural value chains and make communities more attractive to investors.

He maintained that security and infrastructure complemented each other, noting that safer communities encouraged investment while improved connectivity enabled security agencies to operate more effectively and residents to access economic opportunities.

He called for sustained infrastructure development across Kwara’s three senatorial districts to ensure that both urban and rural communities benefited from government investments.

Balogun advocates collective responsibility

Balogun called for continued collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, businesses and residents to consolidate the state’s security and development gains.

He also stressed the importance of monitoring security interventions, ensuring responsible use of public resources and regularly assessing their impact on residents’ safety and welfare.

The ENACT founder urged residents to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information, noting that community participation remained essential to crime prevention and the maintenance of peace.

“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s investments in security should be seen as part of a broader effort to build a Kwara where people can live without fear, businesses can thrive, young people can access opportunities and communities can benefit from sustainable infrastructure,” he said.

Balogun added that sustaining the investments and translating them into measurable improvements in residents’ lives should remain a priority.

He reaffirmed ENACT’s commitment to promoting innovation, youth empowerment and community development, expressing optimism that stronger collaboration among government, the private sector and local communities would contribute to a safer, more inclusive and prosperous Kwara State.
