The non-governmental organization, Kwara Productive Circle, has taken a significant step in its mission to nurture entrepreneurship among youth by launching a Leadership and Business Mentorship Program.
This initiative was introduced for students residing in the Kwara Central Senatorial District and was inaugurated at Eruda Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government area of Kwara State.
Kwara Productive Circle is a collective of young business owners who have come together with the common aim of enlightening and inspiring secondary school students about the world of entrepreneurship from an early age.
Under the banner of “The Teens Business Summer Series,” this seminar seeks to impart valuable knowledge and skills to students.
Ibrahim Muktar Afonja, Co-Convener of the group, emphasized that their primary goal is to visit various summer lessons across the Three Senatorial Districts of the State.
He added that the organization aimed to empower young minds with the necessary skills to assume leadership roles and kickstart their own entrepreneurial ventures.
Afonja encouraged the youth of Kwara State to consider exploring the world of business, emphasizing that serving as role models for future generations is of utmost importance.
He stressed that KPC is a non-political organization, comprising young entrepreneurs from diverse political backgrounds who are eager to utilize their experiences to inspire secondary school students.
Mr. Hakeem Gawata Arikewuyo, President of the Baboko Ward Youth Development Association, commended the initiative as a laudable program with significant potential for the younger generation.
He urged the organizers to explore avenues for government support and involvement, highlighting the potential benefits for the community.
Arikewuyo also encouraged the youth to wholeheartedly embrace this program as a means to achieve self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
Khadijat Eyitanwa Lawal, also speaking on behalf of KPC, underscored the importance of recognizing talent among the students and called upon the government to step in and empower them through existing programs aimed at youth development.
She added that the development represents a positive stride toward nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among the youth in Kwara.
