Emirates Students’ Union organize sensitization programme, admonish students to shun antisocial behavior
Students under the umbrella of Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union Institute Of Technology, Kwara state Polytechnic Chapter organized a day orientation programme for its’ new students.
The programme which was held at the school assembly hall to sensitize its new students on the school’s rules and regulations.
In her orientation speech, Dr. (Mrs) Aiyelabegan admonished the students to face their studies and shun all evil acts that can terminate their academic sojourn. She further advised that students should not allow political or social aspiration hinder their academic excellence in their various departments.
While concluding her speech, she urged female students to speak out against any case of sexual harassment perpetrated against them
The Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Umar Faruq Sohibul bayyan while delivering his lecture urged the students to never betray the trust their parents repose in them.
He thereby, implored the students to do away with friends who would not help their academic sojourn. He concluded his lecture saying no course is useless and the way they can excel in life is when they excel in their individual academic pursuit.
Dignitaries at the events included Dr (Mrs) Aiyelabegan, Engr Khawatta, Engr Obalowu, The National Emirate Student’s president, and other notable individuals worthy of mentioning.
Highlight of the occasion was presentation of the Union’s Android application and launching of the Union’s cyber cafe.
