Emir of Ilorin: Observe Eid prayers at home
The Emir of Ilorin, and Vice President-General of Jamat Nasri Islam, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari on Wednesday directed Muslims across Kwara state to observe the Eid el Fitri prayers at home.
The Emir in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Ilorin stated that this was in line with the current social distancing directive occasioned by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The statement said the State Government’s directive on keeping social distance aimed at protecting lives and public safety must be complied with by Muslims.
The statement added, “Muslims are reminded that the first rakat of Eid-il-fitri nafilat attracts seven (7) Allahu Akbarwhile the second final rakat attracts reading 6.
“The Imam leading the family prayer must avoid delivering Uthba message before andafter the prayer.”
