Elon Musk: Twitter to charge $20 per month for users verification

The popular communications company, Twitter, has publicised plans to begin charging almost $20 every month for verification.

This came barely 48 hours after the richest man in the world, Elon Musk took over the ownership of Twitter.

The monthly subscription is reported to be for premium service for users of the platform to stay verified.

Musk, on Sunday, in a tweet said, “The whole verification process is being revamped right now.”

According to an American technology news website Musk had ordered engineers to conclude the build up of a paid verification system by next week or get sacked.

Elon Musk became the new CEO of the social media platform on Friday, October 28, and made the tweet on Sunday, October 30.
