Hon. AbdulGaniyu Saka Cook Olodo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the just concluded National Assembly election, has accepted the outcome of the poll in good faith.
Olododo, who contested for the Ilorin East and South Federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives, lost to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Alhaji Yinka Aluko.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the SDP candidate expressed his gratitude to members of his constituency for the peaceful conduct of the election.
The statement reads: “Hon (Dr.) AbdulGaniyu Saka Cook Olododo the SDP candidate in the just concluded National Assembly election for Ilorin East and South Federal constituency wishes to express his profound gratitude to the entire members of his constituency, the Traditional leaders, the religious leaders, party executive members, party stalwarts, the opinion leaders and the electorates for the peaceful conduct of the election and support to him, pre and during the election that is won by the All progressives congress (APC) Candidate.”
The SDP candidate also seized the medium to congratulate his APC counterpart on the victory, while urging him to keep up “the good work of development in the constituency going for the betterment of the citizens”.
Olododo, while reacting to the outcome of the Saturday poll, said: “Accordingly, power is transient and only Allah can give and take the power from people. Therefore, Hon AbdulGaniyu Saka Cook Olododo accepts the will of Allah in the result.”
